Looking for…

Raymond Emmer

I am looking for information about my cousin, Raymond P. Emmer. He grew up in St. Louis MO, and was an Eagle Scout.

His brother was a P-51 Mustang fighter pilot who was shot down in August 1944, and was a POW at Dulag Luft, Wetzlar, Germany, until his death on Feb. 15, 1945.

Ray enlisted Aug. 4, 1943, at Jefferson Barracks MO. He joined the 99th and was assigned to F/394. Records indicate he carried the BAR. He was killed by artillery shrapnel on his brother’s birthday, Nov. 18, 1944.

I would like to hear from anyone who might have memories or records about him.

Robert Gremmel

I was wondering if the 99th Infantry Division Association had any contact information for next of kin for Robert Gremmel. He served in the 394th during the Battle of the Bulge and was captured. He served with my grandfather and they were good friends. Unfortunately, my grandfather died 30 years ago but I came across a news article from a few years ago where Robert’s daughter had information regarding his times as well as stories of the people who came to visit him. My grandfather did go visit him. Robert Gremmel lived in Canyon TX, where he died. Prior to his death he was getting treatment at the local VA hospital at Amarillo. It’s a long shot, but I was hoping one of your members might be able to provide a phone number or e-mail address.

Elmo Davis

I am looking for anyone who might remember my father, 2nd Lt. Elmo W. Davis. He was in B/394 from January to March 1945. I believe for several days in March he was company commander. Any memory, small or large, would be greatly appreciated.

Robert McGlothlin

I am the daughter of Robert McGlothlin who served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division. He died Dec. 13, 1944, in combat. He is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery.

I am trying to make contact with anyone who knew him personally or can put me in touch with any former battle buddies. This has great significance to me as I would like to finally know who my father was.

Robert Ring

I am looking to contact any member of the 99th Infantry Division, specifically Q/395, who knew my father, Robert Ring. He was from Martins Ferry OH. My sisters and I have some photographs which we have been trying to identify as to the locations in which they were taken.
